Moving up to #34 this year (last year we ranked #37) on the coveted list of top 59 companies, United Rentals was selected as an employer of choice due to favorable policies and programs for transitioning military veterans.
United Rentals has been selected as a G.I. Jobs Top 100 Military Friendly Employer. We placed 22nd on the list for 2016. This list is based on each company's military recruitment efforts, National Guard/Reservist policies, percentage of military hires and veteran training/promotion/community programs.
This year United Rentals was also honored to be named a G.I. Jobs Top 100 Military Friendly Spouse Employer. Companies on this elite list have chosen to make military spouse employees a priority.

MVEs are selected annually based on those employers whose recruiting, training and retention plans best serve military service members and veterans.
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) honored Jenny Hubbard, an Industrial Strategic Account Manager at United Rentals, with an 18th Annual Crystal Vision Award.

Recognized by the ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) with an Extraordinary Employer Support Award as the result of a nomination by Andrew (AJ) Butler, Customer Care Center, in Charlotte, NC. Also, ESGR recognized United Rentals for the Seven Seals Award for meritorious leadership and initiative in support of the men and women who serve America in the National Guard & Reserve. Thirdly, they presented United Rentals in 2011 with Pro Patria Award on behalf of the men and women of America’s Reserve Forces Defense through continuing support of the National Guard and Reserve.
SoldierSocks / SoldierStrong
SoldierSocks (now SoldierStrong) presented United Rentals in 2014 with the Corporate Leadership Award for our work in helping our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and to help veterans with an Ekso Bionic suit.
United Rentals has received its first-ever recognition from WE-USA as one of the top 100 corporations of 2015 for Woman-Owned Businesses. Jamie Crump, Director of Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Diversity, attended the national Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) conference held in Austin, TX on June 23-25.
Dress for Success/The Workplace. In June, United Rentals was named the “Company Partner of the Year” by the Workplace, which is a nonprofit that educates, trains, and helps place individuals in the workplace. We were nominated by Dress for Success of Fairfield County, for our contributions in 2014.
United Rentals has been recognized by DiversityPlus magazine. Jamie Crump, Director of Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Diversity, has been named as a 2015 Top 30 Champions of Diversity. This is the second time in the past three years the company has been recognized. United Rentals will be featured in the Sept/Oct issue that will be distributed at the NMSDC (National Minority Supplier Development Council) conference, the largest diversity conference. In addition, the company will appear on the DiversityPlus website for one year.
Creative Arts Athletics presented an award to United Rentals with appreciation and gratitude in 2015.
United Rentals Wins ALH "Access Industry Employer of the Year" and "Access Safety Innovation" Awards
Our company earned top honors in two categories at the 2014 Access, Lift & Handlers' (ALH) annual awards ceremony in Miami. United Rentals was named "Access Industry Employer of the Year" for its stellar recruitment, hiring and retention practices, and additionally won the ALH "Access Safety Innovation" award for the United Academy™ safety training platform.
