RSC Helps Greensburg, Kansas, Rebuild

RSC helps to rebuild Greenburg KS.

Greensburg, Kan., a town destroyed by a tornado in 2007, was the recipient of a new building for their county fairground.

Branch #283 in Liberal, Kan., lent its support to the New York Says Thank You Foundation, a volunteer initiative that commemorates the kindness extended to New Yorkers in the days following September 11 by annually rebuilding communities around the U.S. that have been affected by disaster. Branches #283 and #352 in Dodge City, Kan., participated with over 250 volunteers and donated more than 12 pieces of aerial and earth moving equipment for use in the reconstruction of a 14,000-square-foot Main Pavilion of the 4-H County Fairground.

A RSC customer, Brackney Construction, oversaw the project and Lester Buildings supplied in-kind materials. “RSC is a proud member of the Kansas community and we were thrilled to lend our support to the town of Greensburg,” said Doug Call, senior branch manager. “We wanted to be more involved with the rebuilding and this was the perfect opportunity to make a difference.”
