At RSC we encourage our employees to find ways to make "green" a part of their everyday lives. With a sense of enthusiasm, ownership and zeal, many of our employees are demonstrating that improving our business and the environment go hand-in-hand. Some of these real-world examples include:

Example 1:
RSC Branch # 669 in Garland, Texas developed a recycling and energy reduction plan for its store. By doing things like purchasing recycled-content products and supplies, installing recycling containers for paper, plastic and cardboard, installing automatic motion light switches and recycling all scrap metal and pallets, the store has made a difference by significantly reducing its carbon footprint while also saving more than $11,000 in less than a year.

Example 2:
RSC Branch # 404 in Greeley, Colorado, implemented a green delivery and pick-up strategy in order to reduce down time, lower fuel costs and cut emissions when working on sites in rural locations close to 200 miles from the closest RSC store. Service mechanics worked with dispatchers and drivers to fully load semi-trucks a few times a week as they were heading out to the site, allowing them to pick-up or deliver more equipment each time. By making less frequent but more efficient trips to the jobsite they were able cut fuel costs and lower emissions, while also streamlining the maintenance and overall rental process. This also prompted the entire team to come together to continue to plan additional ways to be green and efficient.
