RSC Equipment Rental's Kid's 2010 Safety Calendar Coloring Contest
Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

  1. The contest runs from August 24, 2009 to September 11, 2009.

  2. To enter the contest, a participant must be the child, grandchild or legal ward (age 16 or younger) of an RSC Equipment Rental employee and must submit a hand-made (not computer-generated), original drawing on the official entry form that illustrates a safety message in one of the following 14 categories: Driving a Truck Safely, Operating Equipment Safely, Using a Hand Tool Safely, Using a Ladder Safely, Backing Up Safely, Safely Protecting your Head and Eyes, Safely Protecting your Hands, Safely Protecting your Feet, Lifting Safely, Using Electrical Equipment Safely, Vacation Safety, Office or Home Safety, Fire Safety, Being Safe While Working at Night. The child may request adult assistance for ideas but not for execution of the drawing, which must be the child's original work. RSC reserves the right to modify the original art submitted if required or necessary to optimize the final printed presentation. Drawings must be horizontally oriented on the page. Entries must be submitted no later than September 11, 2009.

  3. Entries will be judged by a panel of RSC judges consisting of four executives and two managers, using the following criteria, in this order: best able to communicate the safety message, most creative and most aesthetically pleasing. The judges' decisions will be final.

  4. One winner will be chosen for each category. The drawings of the winners will be featured in an RSC 2010 calendar with one picture illustrating each month. Each category winner will also receive a $250 American Express® Gift Card (retail value $250). RSC will determine in its sole discretion which picture will illustrate which month in the calendar. Winners will be selected on or about September 25, 2009, and will be notified on or about October 9, 2009. Entries must be submitted on official entry blanks, which are available from RSC branch managers and must be submitted back to an RSC branch manager when completed. Only one entry per category may be submitted by each child. If a child submits more than one entry per category, only the earliest entry received will be considered official and the others will be discarded. If a tie results in any category, the tie will be broken by RSC's CEO, Erik Olsson, whose decision will be based on the above criteria and will be final.

  5. All information requested on the official entry blank must be provided and the child's parent, grandparent or legal guardian must sign the release on the form.

  6. If a winner's notification is undeliverable, the winner will be disqualified and the second place contestant in that category will become the winner.

  7. By entering, each entrant, through his/her parent, grandparent or legal guardian, accepts and agrees to be bound by these rules and by the decision of the judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects. RSC, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. There is no cash value for any winning picture and prizes are not transferable. The parent, grandparent or legal guardian of each entrant consents to RSC's use of the picture and the winner's name and likeness for advertising and publicity purposes and to the use of the winning picture in the RSC calendar. All entries, intellectual property and information contained thereon become the sole property of RSC. RSC reserves the right to modify these rules for clarification purposes without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the contest. RSC is not responsible for lost, late, stolen, damaged, mutilated, illegible, postage due, misdirected, incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete entry information, whether caused by entrant or any other reason. Mechanically reproduced, facsimile or photocopied entries are not eligible. Submission of an entry constitutes a representation that the drawing is the child's original work.

  8. RSC reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest at any time due to situations beyond its reasonable control that make the contest not capable of completion as planned and to select winners from the valid entries received prior to cancellation or termination of the contest.

  9. All entrants, through their parent, grandparent or legal guardian, release RSC and its employees, directors, officers and agents, parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, advertising, publicity and promotion agencies from any and all claims or liability in connection with their participation in this contest. ENTRANTS, THROUGH THEIR PARENT, GRANDPARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN, AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS RSC AND ITS AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, PARENTS, AGENCIES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES FROM RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES, LOSSES OR INJURIES, INCLUDING DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, DUE IN WHOLE OR PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST OR BEING DECLARED A WINNER.
