RSC ONLINE® MAKES SAVING MONEY SIMPLE FOR STALEY INCORPORATED

When RSC Equipment Rental introduced Candice Roberts, procurement manager for Staley Inc., an electrical contracting company, to RSC Online®, she was intimidated.

"I am not computer savvy," Roberts says. "Although I never took lessons, RSC Online was easy to learn."

Now, Roberts uses RSC Online® about eight times a day, making Staley's equipment rental efforts more efficient. Staley is located in 30 states and has 250 employees. Staley works with Fortune 100 retail companies, wiring new stores across the country. Staley needs to keep an updated inventory of its scissor-lift rentals to provide its technicians with the right equipment, at the right location, at the right time.

"We start with eight scissor lifts for the first ten days" Roberts says. "When the technicians have decided on a scissor lift, they contact me, and I cancel the lifts they do not want. Through RSC Online®, I can close the order, but allow them to keep the lift they prefer available."

Roberts says the biggest challenge is knowing what is being rented.

"Prior to RSC Online®, I would track rentals using a spreadsheet, which increased the risk of missing a rental" Roberts says.

"There have been times when we have had a piece of equipment in the field for a couple of months before realizing the rental had been overlooked, [which could cost thousands of dollars annually,]" Roberts recalls. "Now, with RSC Online®, I am able to keep the equipment rental status up-to-date, all from an easy-to-use website, eliminating these types of errors."

"When canceling a scissor lift, I simply type the purchase order number into the system, and it changes it into RSC records, allowing me to keep an updated invoice without having to search for it later," Roberts says.

"Because RSC Online® is so user-friendly and easy to learn, it alleviates wasted time and effort," Roberts says. "For example, if a rate is incorrect, I can insert a comment to keep from short-paying the invoice."
